Are Pet Video Apps Safe and Private in 2026?

By the ilovemypets.ai team ·

Most AI pet dance and talking video apps are safe to use if you check three things first: who can see your photos, whether they're used to train AI, and whether you can delete them. A photo of your dog is low-risk on its own, but the app also gets your email, your payment details and sometimes your face, so the privacy policy matters.

Here's what to look for in any pet video app, and exactly how ilovemypets.ai handles each point.

The short version

Yes, pet video apps can be safe and private, if the app keeps your gallery private by default, doesn't sell or train on your photos, and lets you delete everything. On ilovemypets.ai your gallery is private, photos go to AI providers only to make your video, they aren't used to train our own models, and deleting your account purges them.

  • Who sees it: only you, unless you choose to share one creation
  • Stored: until you delete it or your account
  • Training: your photos aren't used to train our own AI models, and never sold
  • Permissions: the photo you pick, plus your microphone for video calls
  • Delete: Profile → Delete account purges photos, videos and personal data

Three terms worth knowing

Photo upload. When you upload a photo, a copy leaves your phone and is stored on the app's servers. AI video generation needs that: the model has to see your pet to animate them. On ilovemypets.ai, photos and videos are stored with our storage provider, and your photo and inputs are sent to third-party AI providers (such as fal.ai, Kling, ElevenLabs, Anthropic and Runway) only to make what you asked for.

Data retention. How long the app keeps your content. Look for a clear answer, not "as long as necessary". On ilovemypets.ai, your account, photos and videos are kept until you delete them or your account.

Permissions. What the app can reach on your device. A pet video app needs the photo you choose and, for voice features, the microphone. Be wary of an app that wants your contacts or location to animate a cat.

Who sees your pet's photo?

On ilovemypets.ai your gallery is private by default. Nothing is shared unless you choose Share to Explore, our optional community feed, for a specific creation. Even then, other subscribers see the video, your caption and your pet's name and breed, never your name or email. You can remove a post from Explore at any time, though copies someone saved while it was visible can't be recalled.

The other parties who handle your photo are the AI providers that generate the video, our hosting and storage providers, and, if you report or share a post, our moderation team. We don't sell your photos.

Is your photo used to train AI?

This is the clause to search for in any app's privacy policy. ilovemypets.ai does not use your uploaded photos or generated media to train its own AI models. Content sent to third-party AI providers is subject to their own retention practices, which is true of nearly every AI video app, so it's worth knowing who they are; ours are named in the privacy policy.

What about photos of people?

Some templates, like a duet with you and your pet, use a photo of a person. That's more sensitive than a dog photo. On ilovemypets.ai, facial images are used only to make your video, never for facial recognition, identity checks or a biometric database, and they're purged when you delete the content or your account. Only upload someone else's face with their permission, and don't upload photos of children. The service is for adults 18 and over.

How to delete everything

Go to Profile → Delete account, or email support@ilovemypets.ai. That purges your uploaded photos, generated videos and personal data from active systems. Two honest caveats from the policy: backups may hold copies for a limited period before being overwritten, and if you shared posts to Explore, the post record and moderation history are kept for disputes, while the images and videos themselves are deleted.

Safety checklist for any pet video app

  1. Read the training clause. Search the privacy policy for "train". If it says your uploads improve their models, decide if you're fine with that.
  2. Check the default visibility. Private by default is what you want. Some apps post to a public feed unless you opt out.
  3. Find the delete button before you upload. If deletion means emailing a generic inbox with no promise, that's a warning sign.
  4. Crop out what isn't the pet. House numbers, name tags, kids, the view from your window: crop them before you upload.
  5. Pay through a known processor. Apple, Google or Stripe means the app never sees your full card number. ilovemypets.ai uses those.
  6. Watch the permissions. A browser app only gets the photo you pick. If an app asks for your whole camera roll, contacts or location, ask why.
  7. Know the trackers. Many sites use analytics and ad pixels. Our website uses Google Analytics, TikTok Pixel, Hotjar and Microsoft Clarity, and the policy explains how to opt out.

Using it with your own pet

Once you're comfortable, the fun part is simple: one photo becomes a talking, singing or dancing video, and the same pet can answer you on a live video call in their own voice. Frequently asked

Are pet dance and talking video apps safe and private to use?

They can be, but it depends on the app's privacy policy, so check who sees your photos, whether they're used for AI training, and whether you can delete them. On ilovemypets.ai your gallery is private by default, we don't sell your photos or use them to train our own AI models, and deleting your account purges your photos and videos.

Who sees my pet's photo?

On ilovemypets.ai, only you, unless you choose to share a creation. Your photo is sent to our AI providers only to generate the video you asked for, and nothing goes to the community feed unless you pick Share to Explore for that one creation.

Is my photo stored?

Yes, until you delete it or your account. On ilovemypets.ai your uploaded photos and generated videos are kept so you can reuse your pet and rewatch your videos, and deleting your account purges them from our active systems.

What permissions does a pet video app need?

Very few: access to the photo you choose to upload and, for live video calls, your microphone. ilovemypets.ai runs in the browser, so you pick a photo yourself and allow microphone access only when a call starts.

Can I delete my content?

Yes. On ilovemypets.ai go to Profile → Delete account, or email support@ilovemypets.ai, and your uploaded photos, generated media and personal data are purged. Backups may keep copies for a limited period before they're overwritten.

Are my pet photos used to train AI?

Not by us. ilovemypets.ai doesn't use your uploaded photos or generated videos to train its own AI models. The AI providers that process your content to make the video have their own retention practices, listed in the privacy policy.

Is it safe to upload a photo with a person in it?

Only if you have their consent. Some ilovemypets.ai templates use a photo of you with your pet; facial images are used only to make that video, never for facial recognition, and they're deleted when you delete the content or your account.
